Good Morning! I am a 43 year old white male, live with my parents, have my 18 year old son living here also and live in a depressed area of Ohio. I made just under $10,000 last year. 25 years ago, I broke my front 2 teeth. They were filed down and had a cap put over them. Last night they decided to break off. After they fell out, I noticed that the caps must have been too big because the teeth on either side of the caps are cracked and will probably need replaced also. I contacted Medicaid and because my son is 18 (what that has to do with anything is beyond me) they said no help was available. I've spent hours on the net trying to find help to no avail. As you can imagine, $10,000 with your son living with you leaves you absolutely nothing for dental, vision etc. My life isn't the greatest, but I don't do drugs or drink (although, if I did, then I could get help), all I need is a little one time help here. Since the teeth fell out, my self esteem has hit rock bottom. I can't smile and now my speech has been affected. I know that you probably can't help, but I saw this and figured that the worse that could happen is being told 'your screwed'. Been told that a couple of times today already, so what's one more? :-) Thanks for taking the time to read this!! TS
thank you for the info. i am going to try and get help for my husband and i to get our teeth fixed. we cannot afford $5,000.00 dollars. we live in il. you have been very helpful.
I really hope someone can help....situation is this...my boyfriend is 29 years old and has had major teeth issues (from neglect) for as long as he can remember. He has medicaid insurance, which denies most work and due to pain and financial problems, he has had 8 teeth pulled and is now wearing a partial denture, which fits terrible, is painful and annoying. He needs to get either implants (i know VERY expensive) or a permanent bridge (also expensive). I have been looking into dental schools in the area, but they have a long waiting list and are supposedly about 20-25% less than a private dentist (which is still alot). I dont know what to do. We are located in Nassau County, which is on Long Island, NY. Please any suggestions, help!
in response to Mommysaysouch...Where are you located? How far can you travel? Did the office tell you why they needed you to come in for two more appointments? Did you have an x-ray of that particular tooth or all of your teeth? Do you remember anything mentioned like periodontal disease?
TIP: You can always ask an office for a consultation so you can have a chance to get to know the dentist and find one in which you feel comfortable.
I am a stay at home mom with a mouth full of pain! I went and got an exam and stays done at a place where the dr doesn't say two words to you. We decided to focus on the tooth that bothers me the most to be root canal or pulled. I don't have 2000 to get a root canal so I called to get it pulled and they want me to do two more $$$ appointment before. I it want it out so is can enjoy my kid without a washcloth of ice Tony face
Hi Leadinglady, Here is a link to the free dental clinic events in NC to the end of 2011. Also, it would be helpful to get into regular care and new x-rays. Go here to find the nearest dental hygiene school from the drop down, state menu and make an appointment. Keep in touch.

Hello,
I am a hard working parent that takes my job as a parent seriously. I work full time and I have 3 beautiful children that I spend all the money I make ... taking care of my children's needs. After all is said and done there is never anything left for me. I am in need of extensive dental work due to years of postponing what I need to do for myself. How can I get assistance? I am concerned that my dental problems will lead to serious health problems ... as it is I have both loose and missing teeth.
I need Dential help, all my teeth are bad and infected I lost my job do to medical ,now I have no income, no insurance. could you please tell me where I could get Help. B.F. 19 Mace Circle ,Conway,AR 72032
My husband is in a lot of tooth pain, due to one of his left bottom molars being cracked. We have no insurance and no money until the !st of the month. He really needs to have it pulled out asap, can you please help us to find a free clinic or something fast?Thank you very much
I found these guys in our rural magazine and gave them a call. They offer a complete set of dentures with one year of checkups and adjustments for $310 and a no warranty full set with no checkup for $295. They have an RV park free to customers and a hearing center there as well. I still can't get my own dentures because of the cost of the extractions but this gets me a little bit closer. I called them with some general questions and they were very polite and helpful. They seemed to be really nice people. Here is a link to their site. http://www.midamericadental.com/index.php
I ended up having to go to the dentist to fill my 8 cavities, and I couldn't believe I had gingivitis, too! I paid for it using "chase health advance" - good for absolute emergencies, it's basically a credit card but you get up to 24 months to pay off your balance interest free. If you can afford large monthly payments it may help you. But please, don't do that.
Instead, try something more natural with no chemicals. I've felt 2 cavities return, and my gum disease came back, so instead of going back to the dentist I did some research:
I found out that fluoride in toothpaste actually eats away at your enamel (as well as your bones when you drink it!) Look it up! And there's a coating in toothpaste that prevents your body from naturally restoring it's enamel, so you should BRUSH YOUR TEETH WITH SOAP! That way you can thoroughly rinse off any residue and your body, if properly nurtured, can restore your enamel. You need calcuim in your diet.
I personally recommend "Dr. Bronner's" soap, they're 100% natural and organic, and if you get peppermint then it feels more like toothpaste you're used to. You only need a tiny bit because it's very concentrated, just be sure to rinse out your mouth 3 times after brushing.
Using this method, my gums have gotten tighter, more red and healthier looking; my teeth have gotten whiter and my cavities no longer hurt! PLEASE give it some consideration! I hope it helps you!!!
My Name is Nikki and I am 15 and My Mum is very scared of the dentist and has to get put to sleep for it. My Mum has 4 crowns on the top at the front and 4 crowns on the bottom at the front. They are horrible and make my Mum sad. I remember my Mum laughing and smiling lots, but now she doesnt and if she does it is not for long and she puts her hand over her mouth. 2 years ago her front top crown broke and the dentist pulled out her front tooth and gave her a false tooth and said it would need to be used for six months, two years now and she still has her false tooth. He said he would bridge it or something like that. He never did. She has lost lots of weight because she cant eat properly, she wont go ut for a meal because she cant eat with her false tooth in. Her false tooth snapped off and she fixed it wih super glue but it keeps breaking. She needs it fixed so much. I feel so sorry my Mum, she always helps everyone else before hersef, she is so kind and alwas tries to give me and my brother what we need. My Mum has tried hard on her own for years to bring us up and we would like to help her to pay for her teeth to get fixed. The dentist said she could have it fixed properly but it would probably cost 900 pounds. Me and my brother have saved 150 pounds by washing lots of cars, painting fences and cutting grass and it is her birthday in January and we would love to give hr a new tooth and make her a happy Mum again. She doesnt know we are saving for her and it will be a great surprise if we can do it. We are hoping some people would like to help us to give our Mum a lovely smile again and give us one pound donation. I know it will be hard to get 750 people to give one pound but it is 5 months until January. Please give us a pound for Mum, she is a great Mum and deserves it.
Thank you to everyone online who gives us a pound, we now have 80 pounds in the paypal account email address mums-tooth@inbox.com

Hi my name is Susan, I bit on a piece of hard candy on Dec 27, 2006. I immediatly felt sharp pain up my face and down my neck. It settled down about 30 mins later, but kept coming back. I could not eat or drink and Ifelt pain while trying to suck through a straw. I got into a dentist on Jan 2/07. He was dismayed and after 4 x-rays, he stated he could not find anything, so he suggested it was facial nureliga(?). Gave me an injection for pain and sent me on my way. He said that a specialists would cotnact me. I continued on with pain pills for a bout 3 weeks and could take it no more. Needless to say I have seen 3 dentist. One found a crack and fixed, he said I would have no further problems and sent me on my way. The specialists called in the middle of February, after the dentist found a crack, so I though all would be well and did not make the 3 hour trip to see him. Since then I have developed a abcess in the same tooth and have had 5 sessions of antibotics. Nothing worked. Here I am in a mess, no reall relief and supposed to see another specialists the end of August. I am a mess, I am in pain on and off, my sinus is infected and I have small lumps in my neck. Anyone any where, with help...please come my way. I am desparate.
please help i am in need of accommodation flat/house and i have two kids the first born is 17 years old and the second one is 6 years old and i stay insouth africa(pretoria) could you please urgently help my name is SINA cellphone number 0722181862
The tooth is abscessed and it is putting pressure on the nerve. This is usually the result of a cavity that was not fixed in the early stages. The only way to fix this is a root canal or pulling the tooth out. If you know a dentist or can go to a free clinic ask for a prescription for 40 capsules
"Clindamycin" 300 mg 4 times a day. That is an antibiotic that works especially well with infections in the mouth area. A 10 day course will get rid of most of the infection. Along with that take 600 mg of over the counter Ibuprofen every 4 to 6 hours to reduce the inflammation. With this combination, the pain will go away in 2 to 3 days. I believe that you can get the prescription filled at any Walmart for $4.00. You still need the dental work done, but this will buy you 30 to 90 days time to arrange for a root canal.
Hi there. I am a 23 year old Seminary Student/ youth leader. As Im sure
you imagine Ministry is not the most lucrative profession, though the
rewards defiitely make me rich! I am basically broke and have no
insurance. (I work 2 part time jobs) I am in terrible pain right
now and it only seems to be getting worse. I am having major dental
issues. I have a tooth that is in intense pain and the dentists stated
it most likely needs a root canal but I simply don't have any money to
pay for even another trip to the dentist much less a root canal. There
is pain throughout that side of my jaw and teth but seems localized on
that tooth. I don't know what to do but I trust God will provide. In a
way its kind of excited when I have nothing I can do because it teaches
me to trust Him so much more. Any help would be SO greatly appreciated
as would your prayers. And also my sister is having similar issues
right now. She needs her wisdom teeth out as well as other dental work
from an accident she had, but being just married and with a young baby
has no way to pay. I wish that I could help her and feel almost selfish
for even asking for help myself without mentioning her first. Once
again thak you so much!
Smile,
Hi I am writting this for my husband Bill, He is in need very bad for some Dentail inplants. Bill is retired and unemployed temperaly.(But Looking) Bill has had By-Pass open heart Surgery 6 years ago, and then 3 months later had another surgery for a aneurysm in his Arota. Between all that his ByPass collaps and needed more surgery. The Reason Bills teeth are so bad was due to his heart disese. He had pockets of infection. (yes we were seeing a dentest but not a very good one who missed all this trouble) Bill will never want for anything in his life. He is a giver and will give and give. Bill would give money to you if you needed something but not to him self at all. It would be the most wounderful thing if someone could give Bill a Dentail Implant that he want so bad. We feel the reason Bill is not able to get another job is because of this Teeth. People judge him becasue he looks the way he looks. Living here in Michigan Jobs are tough WE just lost our Insurance last week. But we will not give up. Bill will take any kind of job. If you can help in any way that would be so great. Any information about free clinics for this would be great. Remember Always Smile. Which Bill does not do anymore becasue of his teeth problems. Thanks
